Around this time last year 0017th dropped the racially charged visual ‘Black Man’ as a response to the injustice of Michael Brown’s unlawful murder in Ferguson. A year later the number of murders by law enforcement continue to rise. In their newest release, “Walk On Water”, Nesby Phips and Reem of 0017th share an introspective look into their own lives as Black men experiencing the hard realities of American life in Hollygrove. With everything going on in Baltimore right now, this video is super relevant.

New Orleans hip-hop duo The Knux just released their third full-length studio album, “Eleven.” Showcasing their signature alternative sound, the 10-track EP features unique rock-sounding beats, perfectly fitting for their style. Maryland based MC Cha$e Royale looks to carve out his own niche in the rap game and takes his first stab at the throne with his debut project “Royale Reigns.” Having honed his skills for years, the 22-year-old showcases an impressive array of lyricism over some smooth boom bap-esque cuts which harken back to Hip-Hop’s golden era, with some new school flavor for good measure. You’ve been seeing producer/emcee Steezefield‘s name around here a lot as of lately. I just caught wend of dudes dope music and I’m truly a fan. If you’re not already one, hopefully you’ll be inched that much closer to becoming one after hearing his latest record “Said That.”
This first single off his forthcoming Leave a Light On, Please EP features assistance from fellow Illinois-native and frequent collaborator Alex Jordahl with atmospheric production created by the likes of Stwo. Together, the two artist align their signature downtempo and mellow styles, dropping a host of introspective lines.

The Blended Babies production duo are at it again. This time around, JP and Rich Gains drop off a smooth and ambient new cut titled “Shadow” featuring frequent collaborator Asher Roth, Pac Div’s Like, former Cool Kid Sir Michael Rocks and multi-talented singer-songwriter Jon B.
