By BiscayneHipHop

Ottawa’s VNCHY just dropped another bomb with his single “Down with Me” which was produced by Prezident Jeff. It’s not often that you hear a rough voice that brings out the dog in you. VNCHY spit straight bars throughout the record and he’s definitely someone to look out for in the new Canadian hip hop scene.

Every year Rhymesayers Entertainment throws one of America’s largest festivals and if you’re a hip hop fan than the Soundset festival was definitely the place to be last week. On Sunday, May 24, 2015, the eighth annual Soundset Festival took place at Canterbury Festival Field in Shakopee, MN with performances from young new artists like: J.cole, Big Sean & Vic Mensa to legendary emcees like: Ice Cube, Atmosphere, Ludacris.

This event had 30,000 people come out, it rained all day but that didn’t stop the party from jumping. The crowd fully embraced it and were well prepared. The energy was live throughout the field and everywhere you went everybone was active doing something. Plus there were graffiti shows, DJs scratching, b-boys and b-girls breaking, custom car shows and great food. The best part of the whole event was that all the artists gave a solid performance and rocked the crowd. They all had long energetic sets of their best songs and everyone knew the words. We got a legendary performance from Ludacris with the whole entire crowd yelling out “Move bitch! Get out the way!” Clockwork Indigo had people mosh-pitting and sweating from being hyped up. Vic Mensa had the Fifth Element stage lit the whole set with crowd surfing at the end. Father’s fan base really showed up and came to get hype. J.cole closed the festival with the performance of the night, he was truly loved that night. Seeing all those artists perform on a total of three stages was great because at Soundset you can easily watch all the shows you hoped as opposed to other festivals where there’s an abundance of stages and venues.
