It was another epic Friday in New York City as the Move Forward Music crew brought South Side, Chicago native Montana of 300 into town. After being regarded as one of the next up out of his city, Montana of 300 put out Gunz n Roses, a joint album with rapper/singer Talley of 300, recently and then ended off January 2016 by hitting the road with his FGE squad to promote the LP.
For one of the many stops on the tour, Highline Ballroom played host as Montana of 300 made his NYC debut. The Midwest rap artist had the building rocking, as he – alongside the likes of Brooklyn emcee Rell Markz, Bronx spitter Chris Cartier and native New Yorker Rent Money – blazed the stage performing amped singles, street bangers and unreleased records off his forthcoming LP, Fire In The Church.
Take a look at some pics from the night below, captured by Jonna Mojica & friends.

Blame it on Pete Rock and CL Smooth, but every time there’s a saxophone on a hip-hop track, it evokes something genuine for the listener and SdotCrown seems well aware of this as he sets the scene musically on “City of Gods.” The Queens lyricist uses the juxtaposition of relentless aggression and character in his cadence over this sultry beat produced by Mira-Cal to make this record a stand-out. The accompanying gritty visual, completes the trifecta of a project with fire sound and dope lines while Dtweez comes through with the rapid fire lyrical assist.

Staten Island’s own Chise is back with a six-track EP, showing off his versatility. With no project like the last sonically, Chise continues to show and prove that he can tackle any style in hip-hop and make it his own.
Why six tracks? Well, the number “6” holds a close place in Chise’s heart, and also serves as the focus for his 2016 campaign: “Six months ago an undisclosed A&R told me he was a fan of my music, which gave me this newfound confidence in my music. My dad is currently on his last six month period of chemo. I lost my 9-5 job in October and was given six months of unemployment. So like a dice suggests, I’m taking risks, chances, and gambles in an attempt to achieve my million dollar dreams.”
Check out Chise’s latest here.

It was just last Thursday when I cruised down to DC in a brand new 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer, just 24 hours before the blizzard that was Jonas hit. Yes, I said a blizzard. The risk of getting caught in the storm was all in favor to attend the opening night of my good friends at PREMIUM pop-up shop that was kind of a big deal for the DC Metro area. Stretching over the floor of Union Market’s Maurice Electrical warehouse, the theme was dry cleaning and laundry service and these guys had it down pat. From having actual washing machines present, to their own branded soap jugs and a display of the clothing on the line just like an actual dry cleaner would have it, I loved the atmosphere! Sponsored by Asics, the party had special guests ranging from the Washington Wizards own John Wall, John Geiger, rapper Chaz French and more as well as influencers like my fellow Miami native Norma Now.
When I asked Skooty, Marketing Director for PREMIUM, what the idea was behind the dry cleaning and laundry service theme, he said: “As Premium develops, we’re constantly visiting new places that are deeper and deeper into the world of fashion. Whether it’s the factories of Vegas or the dye houses of LA, their industrial aesthetic always brings me back to sitting in the laundromat or dry cleaner when I was a kid growing up in DC. It’s been a theme not only for Premium’s development, but also our shared heritage and we wanted to deliver that to our city.”

Last week I was on a mission to get to Washington DC for 24 hours and I have to thank Mitsubishi for getting me there in a brand new 2016 Lancer! I’ve only driven a Lancer when I used to play video games such as Gran Turismo so I already knew this car was going to have a kick and sure enough, it did. We got to DC and back to NY in a timely fashion before blizzard Jonas hit the city.
While this car can be classified as a sports car, I’ve got to say it can also withstand high weather conditions. The night I got back to New York I had to attend a friends birthday party in Manhattan and on my way out snow had started to make it’s way down, causing me to become a bit nervous. What I appreciated most was how the car notified me on the dash that icy road conditions were ahead, allowing me to take extra precautions. I’m a Floridian, that was definitely something I needed!
The Lancer also came equipped with 4 wheel drive which was a blessing when getting out of the snow. The heated seats were a nice plus for this frozen trip too!
