Tim Maiden – “The Other Side” [Video]

By BiscayneHipHop

By Kaitlin

After years of searching for his sound, Singer/songwriter Tim Maiden realized being 100% honest in his music was the only thing that lead to clarity. Holding back his emotions not only stifled him creatively, it also led to a music career that was unfulfilling. He now finds himself exposing his truth by blending R&B melodies with lush soundscape’s. Maiden’s soulful vocals will captivate listeners instantly as evident by this current single “The Other Side.” The single landed on the Spotify’s Fresh Finds Playlists and was picked up by well respected music outlets. Now it’s time to check out the video.

MSC Jay – “Mah Dawg” [Video]

By BiscayneHipHop

By Kaitlin

When you think of rap, you probably don’t think about South Carolina. But MSC Jay is about to quickly change that. The young athlete turned rapper has set out to put his hometown, St. Helena Island, with a population of about 8k, on the map. The island is the cultural hub of the Gullah/Geechie people, a distinctive culture that began to emerge after enslaved West Africans were forcibly brought to the region.

MSC Jay’s sound is unique. This ain’t Nelly’s country grammar — MSC Jay seamlessly fuses his country roots with the local Geechie culture, effectively pioneering a new sub-genre of rap that he calls “country geechie culture.”

“Mah Dawg” is the ambitious MC’s first single; one where the stark contrasts between his painstakingly deliberate delivery and the upbeat tempo work together in perfect synchronicity to tell the story of life on St. Helena Island’s back roads.

His debut project, Geechie Gospel, will drop January 5th.

You can check the video above.

By BiscayneHipHop

By Kaitlin

Orange County rapper C-sharp has been on fire all 2017. Around this time last year, C-Sharp dropped his fan-favorite Driving Habits, hosted by Adrian Swish. Following that, he released the K-Lien collab EP Keep It Lit, with multiple visuals to match. Now he’s finishing the year strong with his new project, Driving Habits 2, and a brand new music video for his highly-anticipated banger of a lead single, “Yowder.”

“Yowder,” from #DH2 is a high energy collab featuring longtime collaborators K-Lien and Kevin Parx, directed by Voice 2 Hard.

With ever-improving visuals and consistent output, C-Sharp & co should definitely be at the top of your list for artists to keep an eye on in 2018.
